- In order to request permission to use any copyrighted material from The XPS Research Institute (XRI) including spectra, please visit our Rights & Permissions shown below. Note The XPS Library, The International XPS Spectra-Base, and XPS International LLC are divisions within The XPS Research Institute (XRI).
- For citations, please follow guidelines of whichever style guide you use (e.g. ACS, Chicago Manual of Style, APA, etc.). Please reference our company as “The XPS Research Institute”
Rights requests
A rights license is needed if you want to reproduce any XPS Research Institute, XPS Library, or The International XPS Spectra-Base work in its entirety. A rights licence enables you to:
- Translate an entire work into another language
- Create an audio or video version of any work for broadcast
- Create an electronic reproduction of an entire work (e.g. screen grab with modification)
Request rights to reproduce an entire work
Permissions requests
You will need a permissions license if you wish to reproduce an extract from a The XPS Research Institutes work. Examples may include:
- Reproducing or translating:
- a single chapter
- journal articles
- text extracts
- figures, illustrations.
- Reproducing or translating audio and video extracts in printed, recorded or electronic format.
- Request digitization, photocopying or performing of The XPS Research Institute material.
- If you need an accessible format for a reading impaired user.

Rights licenses are issued for translation, audio, video, broadcast or electronic reproduction of an entire or screen capture of an image work.
